ATTORNEY BARBARA SHAHEEN ALESI NAMED
TO NORTH SHORE ANIMAL LEAGUE PRESIDENT'S ADVISORY COUNCIL
Mineola, July 07, 2002 — Attorney Barbara Shaheen
Alesi, a partner at the Mineola-based law firm Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, LLP
and resident of Glen Cove, NY, has been named to the North
Shore Animal League (Port Washington, NY) Presidential Advisory
Committee (PAC), part of the not-for-profit organization's
National Advisory Board (NAB).
In making the announcement, NSAL President J. John Stevenson
cited Alesi's support of the organization since 2000, as
well as her ability to help shape the direction of NSAL
— the largest pet adoption agency in the world. "Together,
the NSAL America staff and the PAC will work to shape the
future of the NAB by creating procedures, by-laws, and fundraising
objectives,” said Stevenson.
"The good work of NSAL is recognized the world over
and since its formation in 1944, NSAL has been the model
for the rescue, medical care, shelter and placement of orphaned
animals," noted Alesi. "With a record of over
800,000 successful pet adoptions in place, our task on the
PAC will be to help maintain the quality of operations by
reviewing goals and establishing future fundraising objectives."
Barbara Shaheen Alesi concentrates her professional practice
in corporate and commercial matters, and represents The Firm
clients Dairy Barn Stores and Photocircuits, among others.
A 2001 recipient of the Top 50 Women of Long Island award,
she is active with professional organizations including
NAWBO and EWGA, and currently serves on Cablevision Systems
Corp’s Community Gardens committee.
