ATTORNEY PETER MINEO TO LEAD NYSBA
PROGRAM — BASICS OF ADMINISTRATION & ENFORCEMENT
OF LAND USE CONTROLS
Mineola, September 12, 2002 — Peter Mineo, a partner
at the Mineola-based law firm Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, LLP has been invited
by the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) to chair and
moderate a program on Basics of Administration and Enforcement
of Land Use Controls on Thursday, October 17, 2002.
Mineo, an expert in matters pertaining to land use and zoning,
is considered a “lawyer’s lawyer” in his
practice area, and has in the past conducted other land
use and zoning programs. The daylong program will be held
at the Long Island Marriott at 101 James Doolittle Boulevard
in Uniondale, NY, and carries 7.0 credit hours in practice
management or professional practice areas. For information,
call CLE Registrar’s Office at 1-800-582-2452.
According to Mineo, the program will address the administration
and enforcement of municipal land use controls, including
statutes local governments set up to deal with the pressures
of development. “The course will provide basic-level
review but will also explore the rise of municipal regulations
on more non-traditional areas,” noted Mineo. “These
include historic preservation, architectural review, flood
controls, and more.”
Mineo’s career includes a broad spectrum of land use
and municipal law cases, including applications for houses
of worship on behalf of Indian, Iranian Jewish and Korean
religious organizations and schools. He also is the attorney
for four Nassau County Villages. This niche, along with
Mineo’s understanding and instinct for negotiating
construction of commercial properties in keeping with a
community’s wishes for historic and architectural
preservation, makes him one of Long Island’s most
versatile land use attorneys.
