JAMES RICCA JOINS The Firm AS
PARTNER
Mineola, October 15, 2002 — Attorney James Ricca,
a resident of Huntington, NY, and previously managing partner
of the Jericho-based law firm, Ricca & Donnelly, P.C.
(R&D), has been named Partner of the law firm Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, LLP
following that firm’s acquisition of R&D. R&D’s
15-member firm moved into The Firm’s offices at
330 Old Country Road, Mineola, New York, on the first of
this month.
Ricca embarked on his legal career as a Bronx District Attorney
and eventually joined the general practice law firm Ricca
& Donnelly where his father was one of the original
partners. At R&D, Ricca carried forward the firm’s
concentration in the practice areas of banking and real
estate, representing lenders, purchasers, and sellers in
real estate transactions including refinances, foreclosures,
creditors rights, bankruptcies, and restructuring loans
for commercial and residential properties.
On announcing Ricca’s partnership, The Firm Managing
Partner Jeffrey D. Forchelli, stated, “James Ricca
brings experience and talent to The Firm, while broadening
the scope of the representation we offer our clients.”
Ricca earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School
of Law and is admitted into practice in the State of New
York. He obtained his B.A. from Kenyon College and studied
comparative politics and English literature at the University
of Exeter, England. A frequent guest speaker on matters
of real estate and banking law, Mr. Ricca is chairman of
the Queens County Bar Association Banking Law Committee
and a member of the real estate and trusts and estates committees
of the Nassau County Bar Association.
James and his wife Clemencia are raising their three children
in Huntington and are active in the local community. In
addition, Ricca serves on the Board of Trustees of Jamaica
Hospital.
