TAX CERTIORARI
ATTORNEY WARREN S. ARTHUR NAMED PARTNER AT The Firm
Mineola, February 03, 2003 — The Mineola-based law
firm, Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, LLP, has named Warren S. Arthur a partner
of the firm.
Arthur, a resident of Northport, NY, joined The Firm
in 1987, and has been involved in a number of the firm’s
high profile cases. He concentrates his practice in tax
certiorari and currently represents several of the firm’s
Nassau County-based residential, commercial, and industrial
property owners in real property tax assessment matters
stemming from the County’s latest attempt to overhaul
the system of valuation.
“Warren’s contributions to the firm’s
tax certiorari department are highly valued, and his considerable
knowledge benefits our firm’s specialty areas of land
use and zoning,” stated The Firm Managing Partner
Jeffrey D. Forchelli in making the announcement. “His
partnership provides our clients with the strongest and
most effective representation possible.”
Prior to joining The Firm, Arthur gained considerable
experience in utilities, with years spent as in-house attorney
at both LILCO and Con Edison. His expertise in tax certiorari
matters contributed to historic refund decisions granted
LILCO and to Roosevelt Raceway.
Arthur earned his J.D. at St. John’s Law School and
B.A. from Queens College. He is a member of the Nassau County
Bar Association where he serves on the Tax Certiorari Committee,
the New York State Bar Association, and the NYS Assessors’
Association. He and his wife Diane have two school age children
and Arthur continues to remain active with Northport schools,
serving as trustee of Northport-East Northport School Board.
In his spare time he pursues gardening as well as coaching
basketball and soccer.
