ATTORNEY JAMES
A. BOGLIOLI FEATURED SPEAKER ON FOIA
Mineola, July 12, 2003 — James Anthony Boglioli, Esq.,
an associate at the Mineola-based law firm Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, LLP,
appeared as guest speaker on the topic of "FOIA - The
Freedom of Information Act" at a recent seminar at
the Huntington Hilton held by Lorman Educational Services.
Speaking before an audience of attorneys, legal staff, superintendents,
county and municipal officers, city administrators and public
relations directors, Boglioli addressed matters pertaining
to public records in New York based on the public's right-to-know
as covered by the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) effective
January 1, 1978. Audience members were able to earn CLE
credits.
"FOIA provides the public rights of access to records
reflective of government decisions and policies," noted
Boglioli. "The seminar was an opportunity to update
our understanding of how this right has been effective in
its first 25 years, and its applications going forward."
A resident of Franklin Square, Boglioli concentrates his
practice at The Firm in land use and zoning, with a specialty
in environmental matters. He has been appointed as a representative
to Governor George Pataki's New York State Freshwater Appeals
Board from 2000 to present, and is a member of the Environmental
Law committees of both the New York State and Nassau County
Bar Associations.
Boglioli earned his J.D. at Hofstra University School of
Law and B.S. from Cornell University where he studied Natural
Resources.
