Partner Peter
R. Mineo Appointed to the Board of the Long Island Home
Specialty Healthcare System
Mineola, March 10, 2005 — At a meeting earlier this
month, The Long Island Home Specialty Healthcare System
(LIH) formally introduced attorney Peter R. Mineo, newly
appointed member to the Board of Directors. Mineo, a resident
of Garden City, NY, and a name partner of the Mineola-based
law firm of Forchelli, Curto, Schwartz, Mineo, Carlino &
Cohn LLP (The Firm), is a prominent Long Island attorney
specializing in zoning, land use and municipal law.
“Peter is a welcome addition to our board,”
stated LIH President and CEO, Robert E. Detor. “He
has contributed time and energy to our organization and
his guidance will continue to be a primary asset as we move
forward as a governing body.”
The LIH is comprised of two Amityville healthcare facilities,
South Oaks, a comprehensive behavioral health continuum,
and Broadlawn Manor, a comprehensive long-term and sub-acute
care continuum accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation
of Healthcare Organizations. With a recent revision to its
by-laws removing Catholic Health Services and Winthrop South
Nassau Health System as its two controlling members of incorporation,
the Long Island Home Specialty Healthcare System became
a self-perpetuating governing body.
In addition to his partnership at The Firm, Mineo is
Village Attorney for four villages and is regularly retained
as a special counsel by a number of other municipalities,
particularly on zoning and matters of land use and litigation.
Prior to joining private practice, Mineo served as a North
Hempstead Deputy Town Attorney. He is a frequent lecturer
and guest speaker at professional seminars on zoning topics.
