School Names Jeffrey D. Forchelli Alumni of the Year
Mineola, November 12, 2005 — Jeffrey D. Forchelli,
a resident of Lattingtown, NY, and managing partner of the
Mineola-based law firm of Forchelli, Curto, Schwartz, Mineo,
Carlino and Cohn (The Firm) LLP, was named “Alumni
of the Year” by Brooklyn Law School during its Alumni
Association reception on November 17, 2005 in ceremonies
held in the new Jeffrey D. Forchelli Conference Center.
Also honored during the reception was broadcast journalist
and TV personality Geraldo Rivera who graduated with Mr.
Forchelli in the class of 1969.
The Jeffrey D. Forchelli Conference Center, located in the
recently completed Feil Hall, offers panoramic views of
New York Harbor and most of New York City. The Forchelli
Center will be the site of academic symposia and host an
array of special events for the law school.
”Brooklyn Law School has been a valuable resource
to my family for three generations,” explained Mr.
Forchelli. “It is a pleasure for me to be able to
give something back to the institution and provide a venue
for its important events.”
A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, as well as a member of
the School’s Board of Trustees, Mr. Forchelli has
demonstrated a history of commitment to his alma mater.
He endowed his first faculty chair in 2003 and continued
his support in 2004 by endowing a second chair in honor
of his father Don Forchelli, class of 1931. Mr. Forchelli’s
daughter is currently enrolled in her third year of study
at Brooklyn Law School.
Forchelli is an expert in legal areas pertaining to complex
real estate and land use matters, including litigation and
tax certiorari for major real estate developers and corporations.
He has served as Counsel to the New York State Assembly,
and served on the Legal Advisory Board and on the Board
of Directors of Security Title and Guaranty Company. Mr.
Forchelli was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in American
Law (8th Edition 1994-95), and is consistently included
in the "Who's Who in Law" published annually by
the Long Island Business News.
