of “Who's Who in Real Estate Law”

Mineola, December 16, 2005 — Jeffrey D. Forchelli,
managing partner of the Mineola-based law firm of Forchelli,
Curto, Schwartz, Mineo, Carlino and Cohn LLP (The Firm),
appeared in the Long Island Business News' annual listing
of Who's Who in Real Estate Law.
Forchelli concentrates on complex real estate and land use
matters including litigation and tax certiorari for major
real estate developers and national corporations.
Offering expert commentary on possible issues that can arise
at a closing, Forchelli explained that complications can
arise when the seller does not have proper certificates
of occupancy for all the structures located on the property.
"In connection with securing those certificates of
occupancy or other land use approvals, sellers place covenants
and restrictions on the property restricting its use"
he said. "Failure to disclose this information to the
purchaser when it's time for the signing of the contract
can lead to failed deals."
