Partner Peter R. Mineo Highlighted in the New York Times
“It’s More than $20 Million…” By Marcelle Fischler, 4/2/06

Mineola, April 02, 2006 — Partner Peter R. Mineo is highlighted in the latest issue of the New York Times, speaking out against the proposed subdivision of Land’s End, one of Long Island's Gold Coast Mansions.

The subdivision of the historic site, believed by many to be the inspiration behind certain aspects of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s literary classic, The Great Gatsby, has caused an upheaval in the Sand’s Point community causing a number of residents, preservationist and environmentalist to oppose the development.

"[Land's End] is a landmark in the village," Mr. Mineo explained. "It is one of the last remaining examples of Gold Coast mansions, and it adds something to the village. It's a useful, serviceable building."

Peter R. Mineo served as a North Hempstead Deputy Town Attorney, where he was counsel to the Board of Zoning and Appeals and Building Department on zoning matters and litigation. Since joining the firm in 1978, he has continued to concentrate in zoning, land use and municipal law and represents a wide variety of private clients, including many national corporate chains and municipalities. He is the Village Attorney for three villages and has been retained as special counsel by a number of other municipalities, particularly on zoning and other land use issues and litigation.

For more information about Land’s End and the potential subdivision, please pick up the latest issue of the New York Times or visit www.nytimes.com.
