Attorney Peter Alpert Honored By
Touro Law Center
Mineola, March 23, 2007 — Attorney Peter Alpert, a
partner at the Mineola-based law firm of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, LLP,
has been named one of Touro Law Center's "Outstanding
Public Interest Attorneys" during the school’s
annual “Goods and Services” auction held March
21, 2007. Recognized for his ongoing contributions to Community
Mainstreaming Associates, Inc. (CMA) and the Inter-Media
Art Center, Inc (IMAC), Mr. Alpert and several other attorneys
were honored for their charitable efforts.
“Community Mainstreaming Associates and the Inter-Media
Art Center should be commended for their hard work and dedication
to meeting the needs of the Long Island community,”
explained Mr. Alpert. “It has been a gratifying experience
to contribute to their efforts.”
Mr. Alpert concentrates his practice in commercial transactions,
leasing, finance, corporate and real estate law, and condominiums
and cooperatives. He has been active on the Board of Directors
of Community Mainstreaming Associates, Inc. for over 4 years
and has served as its Corporate Secretary and Chairman of
its Legal Committee since 2005. Founded in 1974, CMA owns
and manages group homes for developmentally disabled adults
on Long Island. It offers residential services, case management,
Medicaid service coordination, in-home residential habilitation
and individual support services.
For the past ten years, Mr. Alpert has also served as pro-bono
counsel to the Inter-Media Art Center, Inc (IMAC). IMAC
is a publicly supported, non-profit, charitable media and
performing arts center located in Huntington, NY. The organization
offers a variety of programs and services to the New York
State public and non-profit arts, educational and social
service communities.
