Jeffrey D. Forchelli is the founder and
managing partner of the firm. His extensive practice concentrates
on complex real estate and land use matters. He has served
on the boards of many organizations, both charitable and
governmental, and is currently a trustee of Brooklyn Law
School and a trustee and treasurer of the board of Wagner
College. Forchelli was selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in American
Law, and he is consistently included on the “Who’s
Who in Law” list in Long Island Business News. He
was also selected for inclusion in New York Super Lawyers
in 2007.
Head of the firm’s tax certiorari department, John
V. Terrana has obtained millions of dollars in real estate
tax refunds and savings for clients, including national
and regional owners and tenants of all types of commercial
and residential property. Terrana served as chair of the
Tax Certiorari Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association.
He is a frequent writer and speaker on tax certiorari issues
and has been listed in “Who’s Who in Tax Certiorari
Law” in Long Island Business News.
Terence E. Smolev leads the firm’s tax, trusts and
estates department. Smolev was an adjunct professor of
tax, estate planning and business law at Hofstra University,
where he served on the board of trustees. The author and
editor of numerous tax-related texts, he wrote a chapter
in Inside the Minds: Estate Planning Client Strategies.
Smolev has been listed in Long Island Business News’ “Who’s
Who in Tax Law,” as well as in Who’s Who in
the East, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who
in American Law.
