Jeffrey D. Forchelli Orchestrates
Public/Private Land Deal to Help NCC Expand
Uniondale, April 14, 2011 – Jeffrey D. Forchelli,
Managing Partner of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz,
Mineo, Cohn & Terrana (the Firm) developed a creative
land use plan over a period of nine years under which Nassau
Community College will likely acquire the majority of about
23 acres of former Navy property recently transferred to
Nassau County. Under the current plan, about 13 acres will
be conveyed to the College for one dollar and the balance
will be transferred to the Country.
Jeffrey D. Forchelli (Brooklyn Law School, 1969) founded
the law firm of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo,
Cohn & Terrana in 1976 and has served as its Managing
Partner ever since. His extensive personal practice
concentrates on complex real estate and land use matters,
including litigation and tax certiorari for major real
estate developers and national corporations. He has
served as Counsel to the New York State Assembly, and served
on the Legal Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors
of Security Title and Guaranty Company. Mr. Forchelli
was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in American
Law (8th Edition) and is consistently included in the "Who's
Who in Law" listing by Long Island Business
News. He was selected by his peers for inclusion in New
York's Super Lawyers (2007, 2009 & 2010).
Mr. Forchelli is a Trustee of Brooklyn Law School. He
is also a Trustee of Wagner College where he serves as
Treasurer of the Board, a past President of the Oyster
Bay-East Norwich School District and a former Trustee of
Nassau Community College. He is a past President of Community Mainstreaming
Associates, an organization that owns and operates group
homes for developmentally disabled adults, and was honored
by receiving the organization’s "Humanitarian
of the Year" award in 1996. In 2009, Mr. Forchelli
and his wife Sadie were honored by St. Francis Hospital at
its annual Challenge Ball. He is a member of the New
York State and Nassau County Bar Associations and a Fellow
of the New York Bar Foundation. Mr. Forchelli is
also a Vice Chairman of the Nassau County Republican Committee.
